Our 36mm biodegradable acetate satin ribbon is made from cellulose derived from sustainably sourced pine and eucalyptus wood pulp. With a smooth satin sheen on one side and a matt finish on the reverse, it provides an attractive alternative to conventional polyester satin for gift wrapping, packaging and decorative bows.

The acetate used to make this ribbon begins with wood pulp sourced from pine and eucalyptus trees. The wood is processed to extract cellulose, which is then reacted with acetic acid to produce acetate material.
This is formed into granules, dissolved in acetone and extruded to create a 59% biobased acetate yarn.
According to the manufacturer, the yarn is produced in the USA using an almost closed-loop production system, where waste generated during production is reused, recycled or made available for other uses. The finished acetate yarn is certified as biodegradable.
At 36mm wide, this ribbon creates a more noticeable finish than narrower packaging ribbons without becoming overly large. It works especially well where the ribbon and bow form an important part of the overall presentation.
